Ms. Vijayalakshmi Sirohi began her career at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras on 15 October 1965 and went on to serve the institute for over three decades in various technical capacities. She was appointed as Programmer Grade II on 28 June 1973, a role she held until 11 April 1983. On 12 April 1984, she was appointed as Programmer Grade I, serving in this position until 24 July 1986.

She then took on the role of Assistant Systems Officer from 25 July 1986 to 26 July 1995, where she contributed significantly to systems management and technical operations. Her dedication and expertise led to her appointment as Systems Officer Grade I on 27 July 1995.
