Shri. Banavath Baman joined the services of Institute as Assistant System Engineer on 22nd August 1994. He was given a financial upgradation on 31st August 2005 under the Recruitment and Career Progression Scheme (RCPS) and on 1st January 2016 under the Modified Assured Career Progression Scheme (MACPS). He was re-designated as Technical Officer (Systems) on 1st April 2019 under the Recruitment and Promotion Norms (RPN).

During his tenure at the Computer Centre, he had the following activities: He was taking backup/restore of user data on SIEMENS main frame systems. He was involved in the creation of user accounts on the IBM 370 System. He supervised a portion of the implementation of fibre cable networking during 2006-07. He has conducted computer awareness classes for the supporting staff of the institute in various software skills such as MS Office, Google Forms, Doodle Appointments, etc.

The Faculty, Staff and Students of IIT Madras in general and the Computer Centre in particular, wish Shri. Banavath Baman a long, happy, healthy and prosperous future and success in all his endeavours.
